Integrity: The Quiet Test That Reveals Everything. In the final year of law school, I won the Ethics Prize — a recognition I was immensely proud of at the time. And in many ways, it foreshadowed my entire career. I’ve spent three decades at the intersection of law, compliance, and global business, helping organizations uphold high ethical standards while navigating increasingly complex regulatory expectations. Ethics, while necessary and commendable, are not what ultimately count. What truly matters is integrity. Ethics comprise the core values and standards to which we hold ourselves publicly accountable. Integrity is what we do when nobody is watching. Integrity is the internal compass that doesn’t need an audience. It’s the voice that refuses shortcuts. Integrity fuels consistency. Consistency creates trust. And trust is the currency of effective leadership. Integrity shows up everywhere in my Stealing Back® framework: Stealing Back® TIME, Stealing Back® REST, and Stealing Back® SPEED. Integrity isn’t just a moral stance. It’s a performance strategy. A sustainability strategy. A leadership strategy.
